Villages and Cities Nearby
Although dwellings were one of his favorite themes, Ladouceur was less interested in the agglomerations where the latter clustered. The villages he painted are often lost in the general landscape, some look like a geometric lace rolling along the hills, others are curling in the hollow of a valley or hung alongside a sloping path. One might think that the human trace would disappear without the composition being too much affected.
